Pong Clock
· 2007-02-23 21:03 by Thijs Kroesbergen for Brokenwire.NET

W00t!

Today our original pong clock has arrived!

This pong clock is a true piece of art, created by Buro Vormkrijgers
It’s a limited edition item, because there were only 400 pong clocks built.

The clock plays the original Pong game forever.
Every minute the right side scores one point, every hour the left side scores. To celebrate this, the score of the right side is reset to 0.
At midnight both players start all over again.

This way, you can tell the time by looking at the score.

Click the PLAY play button to see the clock in action:
(The “song” you hear is Technologic by Daft Punk )

As a bonus, the clock can be switched to “Game mode” and you can play a real game of pong using the buttons on the backside.

UPDATE 05-11-2008: Check out the new WPF christmas lights!

I’ve been running these Christmas Lights ever since Windows 95, and they still work on vista!

The border of blinking lights around your screen just adds that true X-Mas feeling to your PC. (Both at home and at work!)

Kite+Buggy+Beach=FUN
· 2006-11-13 22:26 by Thijs Kroesbergen for Brokenwire.NET

This afternoon we went Kiting on a buggy at the beach of IJmuiden. We went with several colleagues of our business unit to “celebrate” the end of 2006.

It rained all morning but when arriving at the beach the sun was visible, and the rain was gone!

The wind was strong and steady, and the kite was pulling strong.
We even did manage to make some good and fast runs on the buggy!

It was a lot of fun.

Afterwards we had dinner at the Beach-Inn

It's a giant LA-SER
· 2006-10-27 15:19 by Thijs Kroesbergen for Brokenwire.NET

Yesterday we bought a new printer.
Well, second-hand actually, but it goes like a rocket.

A full-featured “LASER” printer!

It’s fast, prints on 2 sides, and costs less money that a dull slow noisy ink-jet printer.

It even has a JetDirect card, so the machine is connected to the network!

After bringing this beast home and installing it yesterday night I felt like a true dr. Evil..
Muahahhahaaa
Mini Me, stop humping the “laser”. Honest to God! Why don’t you and the giant “laser” get a fricken room for God’s sakes?

Come see my giant “laser”

Just for the records, we’re talking about this machine:

Here are the specs:
18 Pages per minute
1200*1200 DPI resolution
16 Mb RAM
133 MHz Processor
6 Pages per per minute (2-sided)
Web-based interface
Built for up to 40.000 pages per month
10/100 Mbits LAN connection
Additional 500 sheet paper drawer

(I know it’s not brand-spanking-new, but its just for home-use!)

Bullshit Bingo!
· 2006-10-25 09:51 by Thijs Kroesbergen for Brokenwire.NET

Tired of listening to marketing crap?
Do you have boring meetings or (tele-) conferences?

The solution is here:

Bullshit Bingo

Playing this game is just like regular bingo, just not with numbers but with buzzwords.
Whenever you hear a buzzword you tick off a box on your bingo card.
When you have 5 boxes on a row you’ll have to stand up and shout: “Bullsh*t”.
(Part of the game is having the courage to actually stand up and shout, especially if the buzzwords where uttered by some hot-shot)

Update: There’s even a software-specific bingo card!

The Drinking Bird
· 2006-09-13 10:58 by Thijs Kroesbergen for Brokenwire.NET

When moving my stuff from my old room to our new house I re-discovered the drinking bird.

The bird keeps drinking from the glass (without batteries!) as long as there is water in the glass.

We had it moving for almost a week with only 1 refill of the glass!

To find out how this works see here:
